So its been almost a full year since my last ‘quarterly’ update. I always promised to not fill up your inbox with too-frequent communications so at least we can say I've kept that promise : )

Lots of happy news to share in the past year. On a personal level, my health is great, as is that of those I hold most dear.  Have to pinch myself sometimes that my amazing parents, both 96, are still here and doing so well all things considered. Over the last year, I spent my usual Fall/Winter down in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, with a little time back in Kentucky for the holidays and, drumroll please . . . the birth of my first grandbaby at New Years!  When I'm in Kentucky, its one of my greatest joys (when not playing music or pickleball) to spend time with that beautiful little bundle, a boy named James.

As to music since my return to the US in April, I hit the ground running on some fun musical escapades.  Most recently, I returned from a 3-week road trip with Sister Jane up to Northeastern US and Canada for a series of shows that were wonderful on every level (even if the weather was quite rainy for much of our travels).  We loved getting to meet/spend time with so many friends, old and new, and had tons of fun exploring Cape Breton and Prince Edward Island/New Brunswick.  

Sister Jane and I returned home from our Canadian adventures on July 4th, just in time to celebrate the 250th birthday of our beautiful if oh-so-complicated country.  In honor of this event, I released a new music video called “Lost Things”, which was inspired by the ‘Eternal Flame’ Memorial to revolutionary war soldiers in downtown Philadelphia.  The following statment is inscribe on this memorial: “Freedom is a light for which many have died in darkness” - something we should never forget as we celebrate 250 years of American democracy.  You can check out the Lost Things video HERE.  And, of course, if you havent already done so, I would love if you would subscribe to my you-tube channel.

Next week, Jane and I will head to Goshen, Connecticut forr the Falcon Ridge Folk Fest, a wonderful 3-day music, dance and crafts festival that features folk, Americana, and roots music across multiple stages, along with camping and diverse food options.  I'm thrilled to have been selected to participate in the ‘Emerging Artist Showcase’ this year which, for folks that write original music, is one of the hallmarks of the Falcon Ridge Festival. After Jane and I return from Connecticut, we will head back to the studio in August to record a few new tunes and finalize work on some others that have been in-progress for a while.  Hoping to release a new album in 2027!
